Giant molehills spotted on the playing field. Well almost, many will have noticed that ‘building work’ has been carried out on the bicycle jumps situated next to the tennis court. The bicycle jumps have been there for some twenty odd years but have not been touched for at least the past twelve years. Permission was given many years ago for youngsters in the village to shape, amend or build the bicycle jumps to any shape they wanted. All work they carried out was of course subject to various criteria set by the Parish Council. Recently several youngsters came to the Parish Council and asked for permission to amend some of the old jumps, and this permission was given to them with the same criteria as originally set. Since then the youngsters have fenced off one part of the jumps and have carried out some ‘digging’ and reshaping of the jumps. So, yes, the youngsters are acting with the permission of the Parish Council and what alterations they carry out will be monitored.
